Myth: Everyday is Valentine!
Nope!
If you look like just any other day, don't your date feel any special?
If he doesnt any more special, then he wont prepare something special, and no special memories.
Take some effort to make him feel special, putting in special efforts to DOLL up, and by feeling special yourself.
YES everyday is Valentine's Day where U express how much U love him, how about today Xtraordinarily special? TBH, its not that difficult. Let me show you how. You'll be glad U did!

2018 Goodbye
Bade 2018 goodbye
Are U in a hurry to get over 2018?
Am i the only one who is feeling like quits?
Am i the only one who is feeling alone in this long fight?
Some of the things that we go through are not so visible.
But do u want to keep talking about it and keep digging at the wound?
Am I the only one who thinks God are U really there?
So many Emotional states
Or are you still in the pity party?
God brought U through this.
Everything in 2018 that made U afraid this year is not the devil.
Everything that broke your heart, made U cry, that u had lost,
things that didnt go according to plan is not the devil.
Things sent against u not to destroy u, that time when u felt like it will kill u,
when u stretch ur hand over what u went through
what u went through will deliver u what u came out from.
What it went through, but it didnt.
You thought, I could have lay down and die, lost my mind, but i didnt.
God wants to use what you go through, so is the devil.
Will U allow God to use what you went through?
Stop at this juncture, stretch out ur hand,
Its not meant to kill u.
No weapon formed against u shall prosper.
There are some things God had to kill, so it wont kill me.
God has to deal some of my enemies, in me.
Thats why I went through,
Thought I couldnt went through,
God did something inside you.
Look back now, what he had done to u.
God kept stuff away from u so that U can get through.
Before U are in a hurry to get through,

Before you leave, you wont leave empty-handed.
We treat everything a form of learning, a blessing.

U went through some things, that tried to take me out,

You can be disappointed and come thru dripping
U can be Samuel, the prophet that prayed for Saw, coached Saw, mentored Saw.
When God rejected Saw which the people have chosen,
Samuel was so hurt about it and wasn't sure if he wanted to go on
when he saw how little his investment unveiled
We had midnight
God says, I need u to stop mourning what I had already rejected
that I already made plans to replace in ur life
Here's ur instructions,
Fill ur horn with oil
and be on ur way
& when u get to jessie house, he gonna line up all his sons that he thinks to be in line for the next possible king
dont look at it like people look at it
dont look at who's the tallest, or who's the strongest
I need u to stop judging ur life by what u can see
Take that oil and take that joy & take that strength that U got left
and take those lessons that u learnt this year
and when i tell u he's the one, i want u to empty that oil on his head
Now David wasnt in the room when they start lining up sons, he was overlooked.
When God spoke, he went back to the sheep field dripping.

if the oil of god is on ur life.
Im dripping from the inside.

Someone who faced death multiple times, get knocked down by huge blows, and really ONE of the lucky ones who is still fighting to survive & give back. When WORLDZ Founder Michael Crossland was 11 months old, he was diagnosed with an incurable cancer of the central nervous system. His mom was told he would only live a few more months.
Not even once feeling like a victim, wasting no time for self pity, defying all odds from "medical/ sport experts" telling him he can't.
Because when someone tells you you can't, they are referring to their own limitations, not yours!

Mary Kay Singapore's 1st ESSD!

Because of a lipstick, I walked into Mary Kay world.
Overworked & lost, I resigned from Ernst & Young Audit Supervisor job to follow my dreams. I joined Sephora as their Chief Trainer travelling to Paris & Asia Pacific for 4 years. Much a workaholic with no life, I went freelance as a professional makeup artist. Entrepreneurship was lonely with competitors & no mentors. I chanced upon Mary Kay through a popular beauty magazine & attended my mentor's fun skincare class. I fell in love with its unique go-give culture & started conducting my own small classes after MK trainings! In 8 months, I debuted as a sales director, picking up leadership skills & earning free trips including Dallas, Hongkong, Hangzhou. Duplicating Mary Kay simple system, I helped Mary Kay produce 5 wonderful sales directors (they achieved it with their vision & commitment!) & even earned Mary Kay Singapore's 1st Pink Office in town & Singapore's 1st director to achieve Top Director's Trip to dream destination Budapest Hungary with my amazing unit leaders' performance! Today I also became Singapore's 1st Independent Executive Senior Sales Director, enjoying an increasing 5-figure monthly income. Time & Financial freedom used to be delusive & I'm now living my dream. Yet, the biggest paycheck is the paycheck from the heart. When a beauty consultant sends me her updates of how she shared the dreams, helped another woman look beautiful, when a customer excitedly texts me to share her skin improvements & happiness, that's true satisfaction money cannot buy. I live for that!

Charged Life
If you are going to die the next instant, 3 Questions ask yourself:
1) Did I live? Did I live fully?
2) Did I love? Who is going to miss me? Who will I miss? Did I hold back?
3) Did I matter? Did I change the world or change something?
If you dont like the answers to these questions, you need to rethink about ur life.
Most people are afraid of public speaking. It isn't about me anymore. Its in service its in mission.
How do I show up everyday?
Energy, Engagement & Enthusiasm
Are there bad moments? Everyone has bad moments. Its about Perspective. We have the power of choice to decide the meaning you give to it.
Who do I want to live with tomorrow? Do I want to live with the guy who didnt fight for their dreams, who didnt direct their own destiny, who didnt decide how they are going to feel in life & march towards that?

One Life. Live it!
Hi everyone!
Its been a while since i blogged about life as I am busy living my life!
As with the current fast pace, I have been micro-blogging about life through Facebook & Instagram with short posts & pictures of daily life, I hardly use this blog.
On reflection.
After watching this above clip, brought me to think about my own life. And also about those whom I love. I always want the best for you. I love to see that I have positively, drammatically influenced your life to stretch your potential I saw buried within yearning to come out and i have always this urge to draw it out. Love it when you set challenges for yourself & achieve it, one after another!
It still amazes me much whenever I watch movies. They are produced by people with dreams & visions and influence many to see what they saw. With no absolute guarantee what will the box office results be UNTIL the movie finally open, they are willing to invest up front all the costs they will incur to achieve the special effects & surreal visual experience.
Watched Hercules last night and I really love the show!!! The half God, Hercules thought he is mere mortal all his life. He was ostracised by his own Dad (or whom he thought is) & brother since the day he was born. Nonetheless, he dares to love & be himself, & believe in others. Until one day, his princess love is about to be snatched away from him. He was all fired up! He wanted to save his love. His father even wanted to banish him to Eypt and sent massive armed troops to have him dea, removed him as a threat.
HOWEVER, His will to survive & get back what belongs to him is his only MAJOR reason he stays alive. He fights with all he has. One day, his mum told him he is Son of God & is sent by God to reign the world. He didnt believe her.
Until he was told yet again by the mysterious lady. He was told that until he accepts the truth that he is son of Zeus and his powess will be set free & that he is as strong as he believes he is.
The day he saw his people die in front of him tore him apart inside so much he knew he had to.
Looking up to the sky, he accepts who he is.
And he draws strength from his source.
And he won & protect his people.
It still amazes me how CHOICES we made in our life, due to the people who crossed our paths, the dreams we have about our lives, CAN CHANGE OUR LIVES TOTALLY. Your dream can be ur reality. Why not go all out & have all the fun living ur dream? Why cant it be a reality in this one life you have? We only have one reality. Why not make it everything you want it to be? Why not create your own fate? It's all up to you. The big screen? The Top Charts? The proud achievements? How about now visualise what is your ideal one life? What will you be doing? Who will you be with? What kind of life are you living?
Make sure you CHOOSE to live the one you want.
As i reflected back the choices i made, i realised a human mind can be infinitely strong.
Once we are clear about what we want,
once we decide to do something for ourselves or for others, there is no one to stop you but you. I am 100% responsible for all the things happening in my life and everything happens for a reason.
To lead me to my life purpose. To Serve Others. To Make a Difference. To be valuable to the society. To inspire others to be who they want to be. To lead by example. To fulfil my dreams, first in the mind, then in reality. Bit by bit, with courage, determination & strong will, we get there.
To discover what you love.... and then do it with all your mind, body, heart & soul.

Maximize your me-time
The clock ticks 12 midnight and I have just came back from a meeting and an evening workshop.
As soon as i got home, i completed cleansing my face & applying 5 Step Skincare Regimen (my secret beauty routine which I will ONLY share in my skincare /makeup workshops!)
Then I went on to pamper my feet by doing the foot spa set from softener to scrub to balm. (Another beauty secret of mine I share with my students in skincare classes! If u wanna attend my classes, send an enquiry email to gkong@avenueimage.com.sg)
Then applied lash & brow growth serum which I am trying out these 2weeks!
And that's NOT all!!!
Rolling along my face contours, laugh lines, thighs & arms with ReFa Pro as I check & reply my emails and plan the next day's work!
Being a woman is not easy.
Staying a beautiful woman is even more challenging in this fast paced lifestyle.

Perhaps Japanese blood runs in my veins... I heard Japanese women never leave home without makeup as bare-faced deemed to be disrespectful of people you meet, even if its just outside your house. On average, they spend 1.5 - 2hours on their 13-step rigorous skincare routine. READ: ROUTINE. Many women I know are often too lazy to even wash off their makeup when they got home, or slap on some basic moisturiser! They are really taking their youth or beauty for granted!? Well, soon they will REGRET. But girls, why YOU want to leave it till there's no turning back and you turn to BOTOX!? You scream when the cream I recommended cost $50... by the time you realise the lines on your face, when you are not so lazy to stare yourself in the mirror, you need $5,000 for the BOTOX procedure, my friend.

As soon as i got home, i completed cleansing my face & applying 5 Step Skincare Regimen (my secret beauty routine which I will ONLY share in my skincare /makeup workshops!)

Many of my dearest friends knew the life story of this feisty little lady who always has that fire.
Famously left a cushy high paying respectable finance career in Big Four after 6-7years to pursue my life passion in beauty. Always defying the norms to push the boundaries. Disillusioned & tired from the maddening rat race, kinda like life RESET to start something totally new. The lure of a more enriching life was the main push factor for that courageous plunge! Committing 101% myself to my core objective, both mentally, physically, financially and spiritually to achieve what I want in the shortest period of time. As i look back now, I am happy to just go for it! I may not have met you if I didn't. So perhaps you wanna thank God too? ;p
Was at SCCCI Networking forum yesterday having an enriching day enriching the lives of others. Its great to give ;) and my pleasure to meet with so many amazing ladies!

It's my LIFE! Its now or never!
In celebration of International Women's Day today, I would like to share something invaluable with you.
YOU who come back here daily if not regularly to read my blog. Thanks because I know you care.
Care for what I am doing right now in my life.
Care enough to read although may not find a good enough reason to catch up with me in person ...yet I still wish you can receive inspiration from here as many people can.
Have you done your life review? Your life audit? A lot of things you used to think about yourself, your past, your mistakes, your achievements, your accomplishments, your relationships, your life right now... are these thinkings yours? Or are they what others want you to be? Notions people put on you in the past?
So readers, when do we start living? Must it be when we face death? As what Steve Jobs famously say? Live your life, live your dream.
Stop kidding yourself that you are happy with the money you are earning.
Stop kidding yourself that as long as the ricebowl is filled, you are contented already.
YOU Of all people, know it best, when the lights go out, you are facing no one but yourself.
Ask yourself this, are you in truth, contented with the life you currently live right now? The relationship you are in, the job you are having, the life you are living..
ROUTINE VS DREAMS
Routine is very tempting, because it is comfortable. Most people stayed at their jobs, because its difficult and uncomfortable to make changes if not abrupt. Afraid of the economy, afraid of the turbulences, afraid of steppingout, they rather continue dissatisfied at status quo.
Dreams are very tempting too, because it is exhilarating. Yet to get to that, there are some risks to take, leaps to jump, and new territories to conquer.
Notice that Routine is about the past & current? You are using your brain to look back.
And Dreams are about the future? Your heart wants to look forward.
You probably want to review your life now, no matter where you are now, how old you already are, who you are, or think you are, re-look at your life closely. Are you fitting in, blending in, becoming a subject of others' lives, not knowing who you are?
Fighting the mold others want us to fit in for their ideals is not an easy feat, but a truly fulfilling battle for yourself.
Fighting the mold others want us to fit in for their own purposes is not selfish, but its because you know nothing about yourself.
Not until you see it for yourself, who you are, the authentic you you have hidden, you wont be able to enjoy life and worry less.
Is there something you always wanted to do? But still fearing the unknown?
Today may be the day you step out and walk bravely.

5 Minutes with Gelainza
People have been asking me about me, my life after Sephora, my passion, my dream, what I see myself going, in the next few years.... and mostly, describe myself.
So I rounded up the questions here they usually ask.

YOU: What’s your passion?
YOU: Now let’s hear the easy stuff. What do you do to relax?
GK: When I’m not working, I usually head out to Orchard to browse, to get inspiration, to simply feast my eyes on beautiful things, to touch them - clothes, MAKEUP (I go totally delirious when I see makeup!) & anything that catches my eye. I am like a little girl in a candy store when I walk into boutiques that have my favorite things. Other than shopping, love chillout over tea & frapps for afternoons or meeting like-minded people. Enjoys chatting with people, listening to people's stories and sharing things we like in common together. Love people-watching immensely too. On the streets. They inspire me for either because they are stylish or stylo!) or damn Singaporeans! (Ok, kidding!)
At home, sipping a hot cup of rose tea and paint shoes, paint my face, paint the face charts, play with my makeup swatching and musing over looks I can create. There are simply so many things to do. I love strolling in the parks and picnics too. Love the zoo and science centre, museums... ;p I love yoga too. That's like a lot of things I love...
YOU: Yoga? No wonder you look so slim.
GK: Yeah I love it. Kinda my body wants it. Wakes up and naturally goes into the flow to stretch. My mum used to say I stretch like a cat, rising from her nap. Btw not many people know this, I am also a certified yoga master ;)
YOU: Oh wow! You are a tiny package of all sorts! What else do we not know about you?
GK: Haha just love learning new things. It keeps me feeling alive! I was formerly / formally trained in accountancy, auditing, financials before making the insane career switch from earning a good income to starting from scratch, a counter girl at beauty brands. All my close friends told me I am outta my mind. But if I didnt do that, i wont be living a fruitful life as I am right now, meeting awesome creative people who inspire me and having lots of laughter, fun and ideas! I love my life now. Not that I hated it when i was in finance, but then again, that have toughened me up alot and starting from ground zero totally humbled me too. I am quite blessed to have advanced in a new industry considerably on the fastest lane to success & recognition. Yet all these came because I was prepared. And eager to learn. I am a girl 24/7 on beauty stuff & fashion. You can say I am breathing beauty & fashion 24/7. nothing less.
YOU: I’m sure all the guys would like to know if this gorgeous babe is currently already taken or available.
GK: Yes I am. Single now. But not in a hurry to find love. Unless I meet someone who is serious and feels right.
YOU: So your ideal guy would be...?
GK: Someone who is confident & driven. Doing something he loves & pursuing his dream. I think a guy is most attractive when he is serious at work and working intently on his goals.
Men who are honest and with integrity and a sense of humour. I love a good laugh. They always say my laugh is super infectious! And he must be 100% faithful & takes good care of me. Ultimately, I dont go by the list. I go with my instincts. I am quite visual too.
Is it really that rare to find in Singapore? They always say, these guys are already married or never exist. Tell me! Are they really all married & only in the dreams?
YOU: Do you think most guys get intimidated by your strong qualities?
GK: Yeah I get that very often. My girlfriends always tell me that most guys like those soft spoken girls, girls who are simple and not so high achievers. And I always get mistaken as already taken. So often guys also won't even dare to date me. But that's not true. Guys still ask, cos they are just guys.
Fortunately I am very good-humoured and amiable. I make friends easily. People who don't know me well, sometimes might think I look sweet. But I am very firm and always have my voice on my beliefs.
YOU: Would you ever pursue a guy?
GK: It's the new age era perhaps. Don't be deceived by my modernista appearance, I am still quite traditional at heart when it comes to dating.

GK: Since young, I have a very very strong passion for VANITY! I started wearing lipstick & cheek blush as a little girl visiting relatives during CNY at age of 7-8. Love rummaging through my auntie's (who was working in the hotel line) cosmetics pouch and find stuff to play. My first brands YSL & Bourjois, were from her. And started using foundation when I was 14. Gosh I was THAT VAIN!
I remembered I just wanted to play & paint. Fave subject has always been Art, getting my fingers dirty...with paint! And then toyed with a Maybelline eyeliner at 15. Guess that little girl in me always wanted to look like a DOLL.
Remember those days after exams but still needed go back to school, everyone would bring their toys to school? The girls would bring barbie dolls and polly pockets.
YOU: Wow! That was so interesting! Do you still play with dolls?
GK: Haha now I create dolls. Transforming a simple face to a magical doll-like face with makeup give me the THRILL. Nothing beats this satisfaction! Make magic using all my heart and love for people. The process of creation is just soooo indulging. I just see myself doing this for a long time. Better yet I get paid doing what I LOVE. ;)

HAHAHAHAHAHA what the....
totally cracks me up.... but seriously its not that bad!!!
MacBooks users tend to think they are a league above, almost like a cultish fetish! Although my MacBook Air has been hanging quite abit when I am working with many tabs in google chrome & many apps opened.
I had to restart too. Yet restarting Mac is so much faster - 7 seconds all it takes.
Honestly i used PC& Windows laptops and they work just fine. Like my IBM & HP, trusty & reliable in the hardware, can take many knocks & falls and still work perfectly. Software-wise, gets viruses sometimes. And that I'm such a hardcore PC user for years, i knew all the keyboard shortcuts.
So the verdict: MacBook more exciting! ;) Excitement in life rules!

Are you in...Empty Relationships
Disclaimer: Yet another post unrelated to beauty... read it if you wanna learn about relationships we keep in life. Be it personal, family, love, work, business, life...

Have you ever...
Changed yourself for your boyfriend or girlfriend?
Why? Did he ask you to? To prove that you really love him? To change in order to fit the picture he paints about his girl of his dreams? Are both of you happy now? Have things changed? Do you feel unworthy of her/ him?
If they finally come to a place where they can believe you love them, they begin to worry about how long they can keep your love. So, in order to hold onto your love, they start altering their behavior. Thus two people literally lose themselves in a relationship. They get into the relationship hoping to find themselves, and they lose themselves instead.
This losing of the Self in a relationship is what causes most of the bitterness & resentment in most couples.
They entered relationships for the wrong reasons - to fill a gap, or simply find someone to love them- came together hoping the whole will be greater than the sum of the parts, only to find less.
They feel less than when they were single. Less capable, less able, less exciting, less attractive, less joyful, less content. This is because they are less.
They've given up most of who they are in order to be and to stay in the relationship, or simply just to have a relationship. They can't be alone. Every minute they need to feel wanted & loved. Something is missing and they are missing the point.
Relationships are not meant to be this way. Yet this is how most people experienced relationships.
WHY?
Because people have lost touch (if they ever were in touch before) with the purpose of relationships.
Here's the job you came here to do. The joy of creating Self. You are evolving, you are changing, you are becoming. It is Self conscious.
You need time to work on your Self first before you can acknowledge who you are and becoming. Before you are truly ready to love others or to receive love.
You must first see your Self as worthy before you can see another as worthy.
"Blessed are the Self-centered, for they shall know God. And nothing shakes them."
If you put the cart before the horse, you will one day resent it. You will never get to where you wish to go. No matter how your heart calls out to you, no matter what signals God sends you, you are just going in circles, going back to square one. But you still feel the frustration and attachment. Then you stepped away from feeling it, brushing it aside.
So there are things you can do when you react with pain and hurt to what another is being, saying or doing. 1st is to admit to yourself and to the other exactly what you are feeling. This many of you are afraid to do, because you think it will make you "look bad". Somewhere, deep inside you, you probably feel it is ridiculous to feel that way and you are bigger than that. But you cant help it and still feel that way. You are living a lie. You want to take the safer route. You want to lose the least.
Why do you always want to be right? Is it really right? Or just you believe so?
That is why Masters are imperturbable in the face of what others might call calamity.
Well intentioned, well meaning, very religious as you think it is, many did what they thought would be best for the other person in their relationships. Sadly it is abuse, continued dysfunction in the relationship. Ultimately the person trying to do right is quick to forgive, look past the problems and behaviors, feign patience & forgiveness becomes resentful and unchanging. They suffer in silence.
You cannot have it all until you are willing to give it all up.
Holding onto something doesn't mean it's been a success. Staying in one because you "have to". Do not confuse longevity with a job well done. Many years in a relationship doesn't mean it is fantastic. Many years in a job doesn't mean you are expert in it.Unless you want to continue living a lie or a long life of quiet desperation where you enjoy repeating these patterns from your past.
The truth is relentless. It keeps creeping up on you from every side, showing you what it is. You may find it tempting yet confusing.
Do you seem to be going round in circles?
That's because you keep asking the same question in 3 different ways hoping to hear a different answer. You keep asking, hoping God will say something different each time. This is not working.
The goal is not about how long you can stay in relationships.
The goal is to decide decide and experience who you are capable of becoming.
Find yourself. Define yourself.
Recreate yourself.
Find time for yourself. What you want, who you want to be, what kind of love you seek.
Define the real you. Your feelings and your dreams. You are never too far. Life leaves trails for you to track.
Recreate the kind of relationship your Subsconscious has been hinting at you to go forth and chase it.
This is just Part One.

Starting over can be hard, but change in life is only possible when we no longer stand still. Change is sweet, and can inspire us to try new things, especially when we are moving on to something. I believe everything happens for a reason, good and bad. Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happens. Holding on to regrets can prevent you from living life to the fullest. If you don't allow it to happen, you may never know what you're missing.
